Joanna Parkhurst,  Biography

Sarah Mayberry, Biography

My name is Joanna Parkhurst. I'm 17 years old, and I will be a senior at Delta High School this fall.

I am very active in Student Council and this year I will be Student Body President. In addition, I play soccer and I am Captain of Delta's Cheerleading Squad. I am also a regular volunteer at Fairytale Town in Sacramento and a representative on Delta's Site Council. To leave my mark on Delta, I will be starting an Interact Club in order to contribute to Courtland and Clarksburg's well-being through community service and outreach projects.

Upon graduation, I plan to attend Northeastern University or UC Berkeley to study Industrial Engineering and Operations Research. After I earn my masters, I hope to return to the Delta and work as a private consultant for local businesses.

For me, community is everything. I have come to deeply appreciate where I live and where my family planted our roots over 90 years ago. I enjoy being a part of the community, and I know that becoming Pear Fair Queen is a great opportunity to expand my role here and represent the place and people that I love.

My name is Sarah Mayberry and I am a 16 year old Delta Senior. I have been playing Varsity Basketball all 4 years of High School and I plan to be a part of the Varsity Volleyball team as well this year. Another great interest of mine is Art.

I can doodle almost anywhere and anytime. It's kinda of an outlet for myself. I plan to finish College at The University of San Francisco and major in Dentistry.

My dream job is to become an Oral Surgeon and give back to those in Africa or in third world countries.

My name is Selina Landberg and I am 16 Years old. This coming school year I will be a senior at Delta High School.

I am an active member of the Future Farmers of America program. This is an organization who's goal is to get high school students involved in agriculture and teach them to be leaders. Through my experience in this program I have been able to hold the offices of chapter president and chapter reporter. Through out my past four years in this program I have also raised six market hogs for county fairs. Through high school I have also been apart of the associated student body. I also enjoy playing volleyball, basketball, and soccer.

I have a passion for agriculture, and some day would like to become a part of the agricultural industry. My future goals include attending Modesto junior college and then transferring to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. I would like to receive a degree in Ag communications, and I am also interested in studying fruit science, and animal science. I believe that Ag communications is important, especially in this community.

I would like to be pear fair queen because I have a passion for agriculture and leadership, I believe these two go hand in hand when representing the pear industry. It would be an honor the hold the title of Pear Fair Queen and to represent the agricultural community.
